Just to let you know I have just walked along the Slea and saw a pair of Tufted Ducks between the swimming pool bridge and the bend in the river going towards Cogglesford Mill. Whether they stay and breed I suppose we will have to wait and see. (Saw on Mon 22 June at 1755 hours). Regards Graham Hi Terry, long time no chat on this site. Saw familly with six really dark ducklings at Digby Beck - you have to be so careful as they are always on road!! We have 6 (yes six!) Gold finches that visit our garden everymorning and couple of bluetits, greenfinches,and the usual dunnocks, hedge sparrows. Have seen thrushes and blackbirds with young dancing on the lawn looking for worms. At work it's wonderful at about 4.45am standing outside and listening to the dawn chorus the song thrush is amazing and you are just completely surrounded by trees which sound as if they have amplifiers in them - no other noise but the birds.
