Not much water in the Slea past Cogglesford Mill there is only a few inches and no water has gone over the weir to the old Slea (near Leisure Centre Bridge) for months. WAHOO, I saw a dabchick on the Slea today this is the first sighting for me this year. Ironically its also a year this week since we lost all but 1 Dabchick because of detergent getting into the river and washing all the protective oils from the Dabchicks (and everything else’s – Ducks Moorhens, Coots) [...]

I was a bit worried this morning because I could only find 1 of the baby Moorhens on the pond. After a lot of looking I found the second so they are still doing well, and growing. There were also 4-5 ducklings on the Slea, not 1-2-3 day old but probably 10(ish) days old so [...]
