Still no sign of Stiff Legs, I am now doubting that I will ever see him again
I did see the 2 baby Moorhens on the pond along with 3 older siblings and mum and dad, so far all the moorhens have survived this year on the pond so it just shows what nature can do when there are no fishermen around to disturb the wildlife, not sure how long that will last as I presume they will soon restock the pond with fish for fishing. How can a area designated as a Nature Reserve allow fishing, its utterly BONKERS.
The trees opposite the Leisure Centre have been pollarded over the last few weeks, they will grow back but it seemed just a few weeks early to me as there were still Blackbirds nesting in my garden at the time they started. More of a worry is that (presumably) the Navigation Trust have cut back overhanging branches of trees, someone asked ‘why’ and were told its ‘for boats to pass’
Although it has been very wet I have managed to get some shots of butterflies from my garden…
