I saw all three baby (now teenagers) Moorhens on Lollycocks pond today, so they have all survived. There are still a few baby Moorhen second broods around, I do not count these now as I just hate it when I realise that 1 has been lost. A dog went for a moorhen today and I stopped it by placing my leg in its way, the owner said the dog would not catch anything but I replied that it might if (say) a Moorhen was injured. The owners accepted this but the dog was allowed to carry on as before without being on a lead. So the owner KNOWS that the dog goes for the wildlife but does absolutely NOTHING to stop it
