There are still nine baby Moorhens in one family so they are doing really well. I also saw 6 baby Moorhens near the Mill so it certainly looks like their parents lost all the babies from the first brood as they have not been seen for some time. Further upstream near to where the Dabchicks normally nest there is also a family of Moorhens with 6 babies and near to the Hub there is at least 1 baby Moorhen but Mum was also sitting on a nest so there may be more ???
Past the Mill all the way to the Railway bridge and a little further there is a distinct lack of wildlife in that only a couple of Moorhens were seen and nothing else.
