There were about 6-7…

There were about 6-7 families of Ducklings between the Hub and the Leisure Centre bridge today, but strangely non between the Bridge and Cogglesford Mill ? The duck shown below is still on its nest :) and I also noticed that there were 2or 3 Moorhen nests also.

It was in the paper that the trees near the hub are having the branches that overhang the river cut back because of **disease** ??? this OBVIOUSLY has no connection to the soon to be built ‘winding hole’ and the ability of boats to go between the Hub and the Mill (of course not). The same story of disease was given why the trees had to go where the new car park is off Boston Road. Strange how these diseases are only noticed when they want to cut the trees down for an ulterior motive, or am I toooooo cynical??
