I saw what I believed to be a dead duckling floating downstream, however it then started to move its legs, so it was alive but obviously badly injured. There was no chance of getting to it and then the struggle stopped – it was now dead
No wonder I do not like this time of year very much. There was also a duckling that looked like it had gone over the weir at the Mill and could not get back, again there was no chance of catching it, but I think (and hope) it is big enough to survive on its own.
They are cutting back the ‘diseased’ trees near the Hub, but its very strange that the disease only seems to affect the branches overhanging the river and only up to a height that a boat could get under just where I was told 2 moorings are to go – strange how this happens, I wonder if we have been mislead ???
