I did not see any of the 5 Baby Moorhens near the Mill again so I have to assume they did not survive 
Although I cannot tell 1 Moorhen from another by visual recognition, I do believe the parents of these 5 babies are the same that held this territory for the last couple of years and they have been excellent parents and successfully raised a number of broods including TWO broods last year, so I am at a loss to know exactly what has happened.
On a happier note I saw 9 (NINE) baby Moorhens from the pair that had 11 eggs and so far they are all doing very well.
