There are still a few ducklings about but not as many as a week or so ago, but the ones that remain are getting a bit bigger. I saw a dead female Mallard which was obviously drowned by about 4 males trying to mate with her, and they were still mating with her when she was obviously dead 
We also now have a family of 5 young Moorhens being looked after by THREE adults. As last year, this is probably an adult pair and a female offspring from last year which is being allowed to stay and not chased off by the adult male. I think its a female because the adult male Moorhen would not tolerate another male during the mating season, even if that male was one of last years offspring.
