Its a week since the tube came off ‘tube ducks’ beak, so I kept a close look out for her and found her near the Hub, she looked perfectly ok and had some bread that someone offered her
so I think this story has a happy ending
A ‘new’ woman seems to have started to take her dog for a walk along the Slea and she chucks branches into the river (and pond) so that her dog fetches them. I have been told (and also saw for myself today) that one of the places she does this is near to where our Dabchick ‘lives’ – perhaps I might have to saw ‘used to live’ because the Dabchick has not been seen for the last couple of days
Coincidence ? I do not think so
The swan was back on Lollycocks pond but no coot.

Hi Terry,
Grieve the Dabchick not. I walked up the river this afternoon and saw a Dabchick diving next to where they nested a few years back (just before the corner going towards Cogglesford Mill).
I saw the Coot on the pond yesterday but I did not really look too hard for it today and did not see it either.
Regards Graham
Thanks for the update Graham
