There were a lot of waterlogged Ducks this morning, more than yesterday
and I also saw 2 dead Ducks on the green by the Hub and these were reported to the E.A. who said they would pass on the message to the RSPCA. If these two Ducks are retrieved I wonder if the cause of death can/will be established.
No Dabchicks at all
and the only Coot was quite waterlogged also, the 2 Tuffties were still in Cogglesford Mill lock and looked reasonable but there is not much food for them where they are so I hope they survive.
On a happier note (for me anyway) I received a call from BBC Countryfile yesterday saying my picture of 3 swans landing in formation has made it in to the final 12 in their ‘Animals in Action’ photo competition. The judging to find the final 12 took place this week and will be shown on Countryfile Sunday 14th September, after which all 12 will be on the BBC website for everyone to vote on, last year I made it into their Calendar but came 13th so didnt quite make the final judging. I am not sure if I am allowed to show the photo yet so here is a mallard to remind us of happier times on the Slea…
