There was still one Mallard that was waterlogged on the green by the Hub, I informed the E.A. who said they would pass the message on to the RSPCA.
No Tufties today, I assume they have flown off somewhere, they may be back but there again they may not be. I also didnt see the Coot so where he is I am unsure.
I had not seen ‘stiff legs’ since the ducks started to get waterlogged and was a little worried about him, but I saw him today, I wonder if he was one that had been caught and taken away for treatment ?
I did see the Kingfisher twice today or it may have been that I saw two Kingfishers once each
As promised I did manage to get a photo of something that I have never seen near the banks of the Slea before…

…yes its a Lizard
You can get a good idea of his size by the size of the nettles in the background of the top picture.

Where did the lizard come from? Lovely picture. My daughter tells me the weed isn’t looking too good—another sign of pollution? There are still fish, she tells me, but not the very big ones we’ve seen in the past. Thanks for your work, Enid
Hi Enid, thanks for the comment
The weed is strange in that a lot of it has disappeared, at least between the Hub and the Leisure Centre, but I do not know if it is ‘natural’ or not as things do die back at this time of year.
We do still see some big Trout, probably not as many as in previous years, but the E.A. say that if there was any real pollution they would be the first to disappear, so as they are still around the E.A. say it is a good sign. I believe that I have a reasonably good idea of what happened but I do not want to say anything at the moment because I do not want to start rumours which could eventually be proved wrong ? we will have to wait for the official E.A. report to see if I am in the right area or not. I just wish the E.A. water sample results would hurry up as they seem to have been outstanding for too long a period now.
The Lizard is downstream of Cogglesford Mill, I have only seen the one but other people tell me there are at least 5 and some are quite little, if I can catch the little ones ‘sun bathing’ I will try and get a picture of them to post
