I have to assume that the little Coot is no longer around 
I didnt see it again today but did see both adults. He/she was not big enough to look after itself so I think something must have got him/her
So the curse of the Coots on the Slea seems to have struck again because out of 6 that definitely hatched and 2 other eggs we had only 1 youngster survive and we do not even see him any more.
Better news is that three Dabchicks have now hatched and another one was half way there, so that just leaves the last egg to hatch which hopefully will be in the next day or so 
I didnt see the teenager Dabchick past the Mill but did see the other two near to the Hub.
I did also have a very good and long view of a Water Vole reasonably near to where the Dabs are
