I think we may have lost the 2 new Baby Coots 
Both parents were seen this morning and they were feeding the ‘teenager’ from the first batch but the little ones were nowhere in sight, they were around yesterday so what has happened I dont know ?
On a happier not the Dabchicks are still doing well and the 6 baby Moorhens nearby are also surviving well 
I only saw 2 of the Moorhen ‘teenagers’ near the Mill but the parents have had a second brood of 6
I did also see one of the Yellow Ducklings dead on some weeds in the river, I dont know what happened but I do not think it was a predator as that would have taken the body away for a meal. I just hope it wasnt one of those 2 legged animals that wander up and down or their 4 legged ‘best friend’ ?
Moorhen nest can be hard to see as this one shows…
