I saw nature in the RAW…

I saw nature in the RAW this morning, a Jackdaw was plucking a duckling on the Banks of the Slea and then flew away with it, the only good thing is that I do not think the Jackdaw actually killed the duckling but just found it already dead – hope so anyway.

I only saw 2 baby Moorhens today but the reeds etc are growing well so the other one may have been hiding somewhere, the baby Coot is also still doing well, also saw the Water Vole again.

No Gannets have not been seen on the Slea…

…but I have been away phtographing them and just thought I would show this one fetching material for its nest.

Hi Terry, Just to let you know I have seen the 3 Moorhen chicks today (had to wait or ages for them appear together) and the Coot chick is still okay. I’m not sure if the Coot Hen is trying for another brood as the nest is now constantly occupied and being ‘re-furnished’ by the non resident Coot.

    Regards Graham
