We have another 4 or 5 families of ducklings and one family has 20 ???? I could not find mum or any of the 4 ducklings that have been around for the last few days 
I just hope they were hiding somewhere.
I went to Spalding yesterday and walked along the river, I spoke to 2 locals regarding directions, they realised I was looking at wildlife but without me bringing up the subject they confessed – ‘we have only got half the wildlife we had before the water taxi started’ and ‘we used to have much more wildlife, I don’t know where it has all gone’. Now this river is 5-6 times wider than the Slea, so my fear that having a water taxi between the Hub and Cogglesford Mill seems completely justified and I am sure that if one does start then our wildlife will be greatly affected, but the Navigation Trust will forge ahead regardlessly I have no doubt
Earlier last week I went away to photograph the Water Voles again, so I thought I would show another photograph I took of them, we do have a small number along the Slea but they are so much harder to photograph…
