I saw most of what Graham had put in his comment yesterday, there were 3 Swans near the Hub and I suspect, as Graham does, they are the same 3 that came and went earlier in the year, also 2 Coots downstream of the LC bridge. I also saw (and fed) ‘One eye’ and ‘Stiff legs’ but I am not sure if I will ever recognise our lone duckling again, but I will keep on trying. There were also 4 (possibly 5) Dabchicks.
I do worry about lack of nesting sites and disturbance to the Coots, Moorhens and Dabchicks as I believe that the Navigation Trust may start work on the New Street Bridge and Winding hole (with 2 visitors moorings) soon, if they leave it much longer it will be into the nesting/breeding season with a possible disastrous outcome for these Waterfowl who like their nest surrounded by water. That is even BEFORE any boats come along
