Our lone duckling is growing well, you can see in this (bad) picture that he/she is getting rid of some of its downy feathers and replacing them with proper ones…
…also saw 4 Dabchicks, stiff-legs and one-eye, but otherwise very quiet at the moment. Just thought, the pond in Lollycocks field is filling quite well and we did spot 2 Moorhens there this morning, so at least some of the wildlife has not been scared away, although we probably would have had at least 4 Moorhens and a Water Rail.

I have been away for a few days but this afternoon I definately saw 5 Dabchicks on the main river stretch and 3 Swans up by the Mill.

We have suspected there maybe 5 Dabchicks but have not been able to substantiate this recently, so its good to know you saw 5. There was also one down near the railway bridge past Cogglesford Mill today, so that makes 6
