I was reading about Kingfishers, which might explain why we have not seen ‘ours’ much during the summer. This article said that between March and September they are normally within 50 meters of their nest ? We have seen the Kingfisher more over the last few weeks which also fits in with the articles time scales. We therefore may see more of him and her during the Autumn and Winter 
It was C-O-L-D today so I didn’t stay long, but I managed to see 3 Dabchicks but not the young one.
Here is a picture of the last remaining little Moorhen near the Leisure Centre which clearly shows his/her wing stumps, which are growing well…
