The Dabs are really having a hard time, they seem homeless since they lost the nest on the pipe because of the heavy rain the other day. Everywhere they seem to go they get attacked by Moorhens, I just hope they get somewhere safe to rest/stay soon. They were by New Street bridge again today but the little ones seemed to manage better in the current than yesterday, probably because the river didnt seem to be flowing quite as fast. The little ones are getting bigger and as each day passes they will also get stronger and hopefully be able to survive what the Slea throws at them.
The 2 Dabchicks downstream are still around and hopefully laying eggs, but I doubt whether either of the 2 Dab families know the other one is there, if/when they realise and meet ‘feathers will fly’.
