I saw 2…

I saw 2 Kingfishers on the Slea which are the first for sometime :) Most of the normal ‘stars’ were around, 2 of the 3 ‘teenager’ Moorhens near the LC bridge were down the weir into the old Slea, they returned later so I think they can fly now. The Coots with their little ones are venturing further upstream also which gives the baby Moorhens a rest (I am not sure how many as I havnt seen many recently as they have been in the reeds, presumably hiding from the Coots) but it also gives the 2 baby Moorhens at Cogglesford bend something to avoid.

This made me smile today…

…it shows 3 Moorhen generations, taken near the Hub. What made me smile was that mum was keeping warm her latest brood but 1 of the original brood (now a ‘teenager’) also wanted a little ‘loving’ and tried to take refuge under ‘mum’ but only managed to get half ‘in’ :)
