I do not often…

I do not often post a picture that was NOT taken on the Slea, but I liked this one taken yesterday at Kingsbury Waterpark. Its a Great Crested Grebe with its little ‘humbug’ on its back, I assume the ‘humbug’ is saying.. ‘faster mum faster’ :)

…back to the Slea… We still have the 3 baby Moorhens near Cogglesford and 6 more further upstream, but we now also have another 6 near the Hub :) they are very small and I just hope they all make it. The 2 ‘new’ coots are still at Cogglesford with one permanently sitting on a nest, I assume there must be eggs also in the nest but I have not actually seen any to positively confirm.

I saw ‘stiff legs’ for the first time in weeks, he looked a little worse than he was but perhaps I think that as I have not seen him recently.  I also saw ‘one leg’ and ‘one eye’, but I do see them on most visits to the river bank somewhere along its length.
